The Systems Engagement & Advocacy Specialists provide training and technical assistance (TTA) through multiple multi-year grant programs to enhance the connections and partnerships between systems such as law enforcement, prosecutors, and the courts with community-based organizations. The goal of this work is to promote equitable access to criminal legal systems and reduce fatalities within marginalized communities. The Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women funds these positions.
The REACH Project Staff Attorney enhances access and capacity of the REACH Project, (Reimagining Enhanced Access and Capacity of the Hotline), a collaboration with National Network to End Domestic Violence on their WomensLaw Email Hotline. The Email Hotline connects victims, their loved ones, and victim advocates to attorneys, who provide legal information in trauma-informed ways, protecting users’ safety and confidentiality. This position will provide that legal information on the Email Hotline as well as develop and provide training on legal issues relevant to survivors in the Latin@ community, including immigrant survivors of gender-based violence.
The Culturally Specific Populations Grant Program Coordinator is integral to the success of a national, multi-year Latin@ culturally specific grant program, which Esperanza United was awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children & Families, Family & Youth Services Bureau, Family Violence Prevention and Services Program under the American Rescue Plan of 2021. This position supports multiple Latin@ domestic violence culturally specific, community-based organizations (CSCBOs) across the U.S. who receive multi-year grants through this program. The Culturally Specific Populations Grant Program Coordinator is mission-driven, community and survivor-centered, highly organized, and skilled in project management. This position will coordinate grantee technical assistance and training requests, partner and consultant meetings, and grant program activities, working closely with the larger Esperanza United team to ensure grantees receive an array of relevant and ongoing support.
The Accountant is involved in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting. This position performs intermediate level accounting work, such as processing transactions, preparing financial statements, and assisting with management and compliance oversight for grants, contracts, and other awards from government, foundation, and corporate funders.
This position is based in our St. Paul office, supporting programs and personnel nationally. This position allows for a hybrid work environment and will start as soon as possible after an offer is extended.
The Training Specialist provides training, facilitation, and product development for website and outreach materials through a multiyear grant program to enhance culturally responsive approaches to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). This project is a collaboration between the National Network to End Domestic Violence’s WomensLaw Project and Esperanza United.
Family Advocates assist survivors of domestic violence and their children to develop, pursue, and achieve their goals to live free of violence while promoting Esperanza United’s mission. The Family Advocate – Evening will:
- Primarily work Monday- Friday from 3:30pm to 11:30pm with occasional day hours/weekends on special projects
- Support the Refugio when requested by covering different shifts

- Primarily working M-F 8am-4pm with occasional day hours/weekends on special projects.
- Occasionally support with Refugio coverage when needed.
